Programmer/Analyst

The Legislative Research Commission (LRC) is the non-partisan research and support staff of the Kentucky General Assembly.  The LRC is currently accepting applications for a computer programmer, assigned to the Office for Computer Information Technology.  Successful candidates should have strong written and verbal skills, be team oriented, show attention to detail, possess solid analytical and troubleshooting skills and be multi-task oriented.

Among other new and challenging software development opportunities, Applicants will use their expertise to write software in VB.NET, for both for Desktop and Web, with emphasis on connection to a central database server (MS SQL).  And, serve as technical support of various existing applications with our users in the Kentucky House of Representatives, Kentucky Senate and the agency.

As minimum preparation for this position, candidates should possess a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related subject and be experienced in developing applications in the environment listed above.  Individuals possessing sufficient practical programming skills in the environments listed above shall be allowed to substitute experience for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
